Escher Girls

Float like a butterfly, Sting like a WTF!?

This is a blog to archive and showcase the prevalence of certain ways women are depicted in illustrated pop media, specifically how women are posed, drawn, distorted, and/or sexualized out of context, often in ridiculous, impossible or disturbing ways that sacrifice storytelling.

I don’t really know much about the game itself (Code of Princess for the 3DS), but Google routinely offers me this official art as a search result and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

While, yes, the entire cast is pretty stylized, this girl’s ‘mid-action’ pose by itself warranted a submission. And I’d suggest the #barbie anatomy tag, but that might not even apply here.

(Also, armor never had an original purpose. You’ve all been deceived.)

I think whoever’s making equipment for her side could afford to use a little less material on the weapons and a little more on the armor.  Just a thought.
