Escher Girls

Float like a butterfly, Sting like a WTF!?

This is a blog to archive and showcase the prevalence of certain ways women are depicted in illustrated pop media, specifically how women are posed, drawn, distorted, and sexualized out of context, often in ridiculous, impossible or disturbing ways that sacrifice storytelling.

Hi! I saw this picture on your blog and I thought it would be a good idea to try and redo it :)
The most obvious thing is that she seems to have no organs between her torso and her hips (stylization can be great, but it does not match the overall style of the illustration). Moreover, her t-shirt seems to be transparent and her neck and shoulders are awfully small in my opinion. I also thought that the hand of the girl in the bottom left part of the picture was way too small compared to her head.
I hope I managed to improve this somehow. Anyway, keep posting, this blog is amazing and I think it helps a lot (at least for me) in un-learning those sexist representations :)
