I’ve been wanteing to jump in the recent Tumblr trend of having male superheroes get a similar costume treatment than of their female peers, but then I discovered your awesome blog and I was inspired to go one step further.
If I may, I’d humbly present you Crimson Starwizard.
Thanks a lot and hope keep up at this blog for a long time, it’s pure gold! :D
Thank you Celebrenithil! I feel honoured to have inspired such awesome parody art! (I’m sure Deodato is blushing too) And don’t worry, I still have a ton of images in my backlog to come.
And without further ado, here’s Celebrenithil’s hilariously awesome Crimson Starwizard:
On the topic of last post, here are two deliciously amusing links that have been passed my way. They aren’t about drawn women, but they are about how women are posed in real life, for advertising and pin-ups and how they’re just about as practical and realistic as some of the art on this tumblr.
Maybe these comic artists aren’t that far off after all!
Okay so I had this idea last night, since I still don’t have a Halloween costume or concept. Let’s have some audience participation!
I’m going to let YOU help decide what I’ll do for Halloween! But there’s a twist. I want you to pick a picture from the Escher Girl archive (preferably not one where people are flying because I can’t fly) and the one that gets the most votes, I’ll try my best to a) do the costume (within my means) and b) get into that pose and photograph it.
So starting now, send me a request (or more than one) using the Ask form, and I’ll tally up the top requests and then have a poll to decide the winner.
My spine hates me already.

I don’t know if it’s photoshop or what, but i came across this ad while looking at a Japanese magazine. Scared that they kind of make some of the drawn ones look healthy.
When I and others say we want comic book heroines to look more like real people, I don’t think this is really the solution we had in mind.
Edit: To clear it up, yes it is photoshop.
