Escher Girls

Float like a butterfly, Sting like a WTF!?

This is a blog to archive and showcase the prevalence of certain ways women are depicted in illustrated pop media, specifically how women are posed, drawn, distorted, and/or sexualized out of context, often in ridiculous, impossible or disturbing ways that sacrifice storytelling.

See the "About" section in the sidebar for more details.

After I saw the Burst Angel submission, I knew I had to submit these two illustrations that the same artist of that anime did. The first one, you have to look REALLY close. The second one, I thought was human but saw that she looks… like an android, I think? Though, are inorganic beings suppose to swivel that much to show everything too?
The images are from Hakua Ugetsu’s ‘Flamboyant’ artbook.
